Travel Jewelry case? Any ideas on how to make one homemade?

I don't want to spend money on a travel case for jewelry. So I was wondering if someone could give me tips on making a case or special ways to pack jewelry so I won't lose it and it won't get tangled. Thanks for your help.Travel Jewelry case? Any ideas on how to make one homemade?
i took a strip of fabric and sewed around the edges to finish it off. make sure that is 4 inches longer than your longest neclace clasped together. decide how many neclaces and earrings you want. i take and lay them out on the fabric before i cut it placing the neclaces in a row with the matching earrings above them you can also make it longer if you have matching bracelets and rings. just lay them down below the neclaces so it would line up earrings-neclaces-braclets-rings and measure to where you have 4 inches around the sides. marke where the neclaces and braclets and rings are. take them off and finish the edges with either fray check or by sewing. then sew loops of fabric were the tops of the neclases and bracelets were. one loop for each one works best. then sew on ribbon where the rings go. then you are done. put the earings through the material and put the backs on like on a earring tree. clasp the neclaces through the loops and do the same for the bracelets. tie the ribbons around through the ring where your finger goes through. and you are ready to go. just roll it up starting at the end where the earings are ending with the rings. tie off with ribbon or rubber bands. you can also attach a hook at the top if you want to hang up on a wall. hope this helps. my grandma traveled all over the world and she did this to save on room in her luggage.Travel Jewelry case? This is what I do...

If a necklace/bracelet/pair of earrings comes in a jewelery box, save the boxes! When you do travel, put the jewelery that you want to take in its box. Make sure you keep the foam or whatever so that you can wrap the jewelery back around it.

If you have a lot of jewelery, and carrying so many boxes is hassle, either buy one or just use a wooden box and use some foam/plastic bags/plastic pieces to wrap the jewelery around to keep it safe. To keep them separate, put them in little plastic bags.
Make up bags and ziploc bags.
make a jewellery roll, a strip of material with pockets you can put single chains etc in. it can then all be rolled up and tied. this will roll up quite small so there will be more room in your case for clothes etc!! good luck .
Well if you have a sewing machine.... I just made one for my husband who sells jewelry.

one yard of material (I used felt because it';s durable and heavy)

FOld the bottom up about 5-6 inches to make pockets as deep as you want then sew the ends and inbetween to make dividers how ever wide you want (I made mine about 4 inches)

then attach ribbon 5-6 inches above the pockets to tie necklaces on.

Then there should be enough to fold over and keep everything from falling out and roll it up from the end like a sleeping bag and tie with left over ribbon to hold it all together.

I hope this is understandable it'shard to explain without pictures...lol....good luck
you can make a case with an old cigar box with carboard cut up to make sections/divisions. you can pack necklaces in a rolled up t-shirt and distribute them as you roll it up, earings can be pierced thru that same t-shirt near the end and rings can be twistie-tied together and placed in the t-shirt too. i hope this helps i have used this method on road and air travel trips.
Vitamin or medicine containers. They cost like 4 bucks and they work perfectly.
