How easy is it to find work when travelling Europe (just in case you run out of money)?

I want to cover my back while travelling but I'm wondering how easy it is to find work abroad while travelling. Any ideas? How easy is it to find work when travelling Europe (just in case you run out of money)?
If you're not an EU citizen, you can't legally work here without a visa that allows you to work. Here in Italy, you'd also need to get an appropriate permesso di soggiorno. You may be able to get a working vacation visa, but it isn't available to citizens of the US. Check the visa types and requirements here: http://www.esteri.it/visti/home_eng.asp. There is a demand for people to teach English, but the schools look for people they can legally hire without a ton of paperwork (e.g., from the UK).

Other countries will have their own regulations. How easy is it to find work when travelling Europe (just in case you run out of money)?
You'd want to pick fruit or something for a couple of days, right? No idea, as you'll only be gone for a couple of months. If you were to go for 6 months or more, you'd stand a much better chance of getting a reasonably well-paid job.
Euro-line coaches are very cheap. And if you get stuck i would call in at your nearest embassy and scrounge.
Not easy for an American.A friend of mine lives there and best he could do was get a bartending job once in a while.
Not easy at all.!!!
